Q: When is sign-in?

A: Sign-in will be available Friday, June 23, 2006 in the evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and from 4:30AM to 5:30AM on the morning of the ride.

Q: Where is sign-in?

A: At the Holiday Inn Express in Monroe, WA on Highway 2.

Q: What is involved?

A: You will be checked into the ride. You will receive the final cue sheet, your brevet card and any route changes or last minute changes. Your bike and safety equipment will be inspected.

Q: Will my fans be able to follow my progress on the web?

A: We hope to provide this ability; it depends on volunteer support.

Q: Will I receive anything in the mail?

A: No, everything will be handled at sign-in and over the web. Please check this FAQ carefully and check the Cascade 1200 web site periodically for updates.

Q: Can you give me information about Motels near the start?

A: The Best Western (360-794-3111) and at the Holiday Inn Express (360-863-1900) in Monroe share a common parking lot which is where the ride will start. Q: How do I get to Monroe?

A: Monroe, Washington, located on US Highway 2 is approximately 32 miles northwest of Seattle, and 46 miles northwest of Seattle Tacoma International Airport.

Public transportation from Seattle or the airport is possible but problematic. Bus service is available by Metro/Sound Transit from the airport to Seattle or Bellevue, connecting to Sound Transit to Everett, and connecting to Community Transit from Everett to Monroe. Buses are equipped with bike racks on the front, but are not particularly suitable to bike boxes brought on board. Shuttle Express - http://www.shuttleexpress.com/ - can provide private van service that will accommodate bike boxes. Fares are around $100 each way.

Rental cars may be parked near the start during the ride.

We also hope to recruit volunteers who may be able to provide transportation. Please contact the organizers, who will keep a list of rides needed and try to match up with volunteers.
